My Sistah’s Pink Journey is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit foundation located in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. Established in 2017 by Dawn K. Floyd, MSPJ’s mission is to provide encouragement to women receiving active breast cancer treatment, through our comfort care packages, holiday adoption programs and most importantly to help our recipients meet their financial obligations while in treatment. MSPJ seeks to help patients focus their attention and energies towards what is most important, healing and survivorship.
We would be honored to have your institution of learning partner with us to help support this worthy cause during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. MSPJ now offers four options for schools to support this initiative, including an option that allows students to earn community service project hours.
- Schools may choose to solely focus on garnering monetary donations with 100% of proceeds placed towards family relief efforts.
- Schools may elect to have 100% of collected monetary donations be used to purchase qualifying items (item list will be provided) and create Comfort Care Packages to be donated to patients. Students who assist with the creating of the Comfort Care Packages will earn community service hours.
- Schools may also adopt – a patient and their family for Thanksgiving. Your donation will allow MSPJ to purchase and deliver delicious catered family meals to alleviate the need to cook for the holiday.
As an added incentive and to show our appreciation, MSPJ would like to acknowledge students by giving them a token of our appreciation and reward the highest earning class with a grand prize (i.e. pizza party, ice cream social, etc.) based on administration recommendation. Schools will also receive recognition via our social media channels and at our signature fundraising event held every October. Administrators who register to attend our signature event will receive recognition and reserved seating. More information about our event will be forthcoming.
Through the efforts of the Detroit Public Schools Community District, Carver Stem Academy and Chrysler Elementary were able to help women and their families. With your support, we will be able to help many more.
We thank you in advance for your consideration in supporting this initiative.
Sincerely,
Dawn K. Floyd, Founder-MSPJ
